About Basset Hounds

Basset hounds are short in stature, growing no more than 14 inches in height. They are well known for their long soft ears. There are two types of basset hounds American and European. European bassets are larger, and they have more wrinkles and skin folds. A basset hound can weigh 40 - 75 pounds. Their life expectancy is 12 - 13 years. Basset hounds are very loyal and great with children.
